Automatic labeling of pitch accents for ToBI and ToBI lite

This paper describes an approach that automatically labels pitch accents for ToBI and ToBI LITE, which is a part of IBM automatic prosody labeling project. In the approach, we follow previous research achievements and extend them in four aspects: 1) not only detect but also classify accents; 2) propose some new features that directly describe the shape of pitch contour; 3) evaluate our method on a large-scale corpus; 4)not only for ToBI, but also for its compatible variant, ToBI LITE. Three experiments are performed to evaluate our approach.
