First order phase transition in EuSe

Mössbauer measurements on Eu151 in EuSe show the antiferromagnetic to paramagnetic transition at 4.6°K to be first order. Higher order exchange interactions and the effect of magnetic impurity states account for the observed anomalous properties. © 1970.
