High‐resolution surface scanning electron microscopy of mineralized tissues

By using an ion‐pumped SEM with high brightness gun, resolution of the order of 5 nm has been demonstrated on the mineral matrix of animal bone and tooth enamel. Measurements of collagen fibril diameter have also been obtained. 1971 Blackwell Science Ltd
