From an investigation of the fluorescence and laser tunability of 7-N-methylamino-4, 6-dimethylcoumarin, we have found a convenient means of extending the laser bandwidth and tunability by acidification of the solution. The general applicability of this method applied to other organic dyes is also discussed. © 1970, IEEE. All rights reserved.
