We have measured the Raman spectra of brominated crystals of polymeric sulfur nitride at 300, 80 and 2 K. We have compared the polarized Raman spectra at several laser wavelengths with those of pure (SN)x. The energies of the two strongest Raman bands (160 and 222 cm-1), not seen in (SN)x, are characteristic of a particular molecular form of bromine, Br-3. © 1978.
