Second harmonic a.c. voltammetry is shown to have high promise as an electroanalytical tool for the study of reactive species chemically bonded to an electrode surface. Even with a low density of surface sites, the strong discrimination against nonfaradaic currents permits useful data to be obtained. Results from studies using 2-pyrazoline structures surface bonded to SnO2 are given and discussed. © 1978 Elsevier Sequoia S.A.
