A study by means of the Electron-Paramagnetic-Resonance (EPR) technique of the valence states of the cobalt ion in oxidized and reduced BaTiO3 is presented. As a result, the identification of high-spin Co+ in reduced crystals was possible. The Co2+ centre is also discussed. © 1984.
