Bio
Dr. Joel Chudow is the Program Manager for Strategic Quantum Partnerships at IBM Quantum, where he coordinates global efforts to expand IBM’s quantum ecosystems and strengthen engagement across government, academia, industry, and research institutions. His work focuses on advancing regional quantum strategies, supporting pathways for investment and innovation, and empowering active research communities to adopt and grow with IBM quantum technologies. Previously, he served as Quality Assurance Lead for IBM Quantum, where he helped establish and scale a new team responsible for end-to-end testing, system reliability, and performance validation to enhance the overall IBM Quantum Platform user experience. Prior to that, he was Program Director for Strategic Partnerships and Operations in IBM Research’s Accelerated Discovery Business Incubation, an initiative spanning AI, quantum computing, HPC, and hybrid cloud. In that role, he led efforts to co‑create innovation environments that accelerate scientific discovery and real‑world applications, with a strong emphasis on next-generation technology education and customer success. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the foundational growth of the IBM Quantum Network, helping to establish its engagement models and global research community. He also has held several technical roles, including as a Senior Research Scientist at IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center focused on experimental quantum computing systems development and as a Postdoctoral Scholar in novel material applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Yale University and a B.A in Physics from Columbia University, where his research centered on quantum devices and nanotechnology.
